Battle Mode Tips

1) Put your archers on the skirmish mode.

2) With archers attack the enemy's shock troops.

3) When you cross a river, go far away from it.

4) Make ambushes, so that you can make a surprise attack at the rear of your enemy.

5) Use the advantage of height. Archers are more accurate and thus more deadly.

6) Place naginata on the fore when crossing a river. With their heavy armour they don’t get killed very easily by enemy archers and thus protect your troops.

7) Use Yari Cavalry or Cavalry Archers (the quickest units) for scouting, instead of moving your full army in search of the enemy.

8) Put your spearmen in "hold formation" when attacking cavalry.

9) A high honour heavy cavalry unit is unsurpassed in battle.

10) Use No-Dachi for attacking, they don't defend well.

11) Fight going downhill not uphill.

12) Use cavalry for flanking the enemy.

13) Use shock troops in the "fire/attack by will" mode.

14) Cavalry prefer the open plain.

15) If birds are flying steadily and suddenly they move up it means that there is an ambush.

16) Protect your general. Attack the enemy's.

17) Put our archers in two rows so that they have all a clear view of the enemy.

18) Don’t march and tire all your men just to find the enemy. Use scout troops. Cavalry Archers are recommended.

19) When a unit is wavering, help it or it will rout.

20) Never rush on the enemy. Use tactics. You would suffer extra-causalities for sure.

21) Widen your army as much as possible.

22)  High honour No-Dachi excel in battle.
